Since dogs/cats are primarily carnivores, they need the natural proteins found in meat and bones. Proteins are made up of small molecules called amino acids, which can be classified into 20 different types that make up an infinite number of larger molecules. When proteins are digested, amino acids are absorbed into the body and are used by cells to create new proteins that form keratin, hormones, enzymes and other body tissues. A percentage of the necessary amino acids must be obtained through high-quality protein foods, so high-protein diets are still insufficient and problematic if they are deficient in one or more amino acids.
"Nature guides us"
Imitate, DO NOT duplicate
This is the important distinction we are trying to make in order to return our pets to what nature intended. What we want is a diet and environment that enhances and maximizes their health and well-being.
Modern dogs and cats of every breed, size, and age—from Spitz to Boerboel and all the crosses in between—are not only capable of eating foods similar to those of their wild ancestors, but most will benefit greatly from doing so in terms of their health and well-being. This is because their basic physiology has not changed with domestication, despite the obvious and dramatic changes in their physical appearance, lifestyle, and mindset.
Most processed pet foods contain preservatives and unnatural additives that were definitely not part of the evolutionary diet, as well as grains that were never part of the diet of our pet's ancestors.
Pet Cartel EE food offers only raw, whole foods without any colorings, chemicals, salt, sugars, preservatives, grains, and substitutes.
